Small Business Investor Alliance Congratulates New SBA Administrator Jovita Carranza

WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 7, 2020) – Today, the U.S. Senate voted 88-5 to confirm Jovita Carranza as Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Administrator Carranza comes to SBA after a distinguished career in both the public and private sectors. She previously served as Deputy Administrator of the Small Business Administration under President George W. Bush and, most recently, as Treasurer of the United States under President Donald Trump. Prior to her first appointment at SBA, she held a leadership position at United Parcel Service (UPS), serving as President of the company’s Latin America and Caribbean operations.

During her nomination hearing before the Senate Small Business Committee on December 11, 2019, Carranza stated that every Senator she met with on the Committee had discussed the SBIC program during private meetings with her.

SBIA is excited to renew our partnership with SBA and work with Administrator Carranza to advance our common goals of providing access to capital to American small businesses.
