Small Business Investor Alliance Congratulates New SBA Administrator Isabel Guzman

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 16, 2021) – Today, the U.S. Senate voted 81-17 to confirm Isabel Guzman as Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

Administrator Guzman takes on the role at SBA after serving since 2019 as director of California’s Office of the Small Business Advocate, where she has worked to direct small business relief for the country’s largest state throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, she served as deputy chief of staff at the SBA during President Barack Obama’s second term.

In her Senate confirmation hearing last month, Guzman said she is “deeply committed to helping to support our nation’s small businesses and entrepreneurs” that are “facing an unprecedented crisis and need our support to survive.”

SBIA looks forward to working with Administrator Guzman to advance our common goals of providing access to capital to American small businesses and navigating the small business recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
