SBA Starts 2020 With Confirmation of Treasurer Jovita Carranza

On January 7th, the U.S. Senate voted 88-5 to confirm Jovita Carranza as Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration. Administrator Carranza comes to SBA after a distinguished career in both the public and private sectors. She previously served as Deputy Administrator of the Small Business Administration under President George W. Bush and, most recently, as Treasurer of the United States under President Donald Trump. Prior to her first appointment at SBA, she had a distinguished career at United Parcel Service (UPS), serving as President of the company’s Latin America and Caribbean operations.

The 2020 list includes: Marilyn Adler of Mizzen Capital, Eva Davis of Winston & Strawn, Venita Fields of Pelham S2K Managers, Carolyn Galiette of Ironwood Capital, Jeri Harman and Ivelisse Simon of Avante Capital Partners, Pam Hendrickson of The Riverside Co., and Kapila Ratnam of NewSpring Capital. The list continues to expand with dynamic women industry leaders since its inception five years ago. This year 42 women are honored, up from 36 in 2019. The Mergers & Acquisitions Magazine list reflects the dynamic changes in the industry and this year highlights various new initiatives including the development and expansion of networking groups and approaches to mentorship.

Ironwood Capital Portfolio Company NSA Industries Acquires Vitex Extrusions

Ironwood Capital announced that precision manufacturer NSA Industries (“NSA”), a portfolio company of the firm, has acquired Vitex Extrusions (“Vitex”), a Franklin, New Hampshire-based manufacturer of metal extrusions. NSA, headquartered in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, is the largest provider of multi-operation metal contract manufacturing and precision machining in the Northeast.
